Statement by our Managing Director David Cormack:
I started work with a founding member of the association, Coubro & Scrutton in 1987, and over the years gained huge respect for LEEA and its goals and achievements. Now some 35 years later, as Managing Director of Delphini Ltd, I am extremely proud to be voted by my piers to be Vice Chairman of the Association.
My career in the lifting industry started as a trainee, specialising in the heavy lift and marine industry, in Ports and on board ships. I was able to build on this solid foundation when I started my own company, Delphini Ltd in 2001. I follow a fantastic heritage, with three generations of my family having worked in dock related roles, back to my great grandfather who was a Stevedore in the Royal Docks, London.
I have been extremely fortunate to have had such a sound and successful career, LEEA has been there throughout, maintaining the gold standard. To be able to give back to the association and industry that has served me so well is a extremely rewarding and enjoyable.
I look forward to working with Ross Moloney and the LEEA team, the incoming new Chairman, Oliver Aston, my fellow directors and members, to help LEEA on its journey to eliminated accidents, injuries and fatalities in our industry.
