We are proud to announce that we have upgraded our EN1090 certification from Execution Class 2 to Execution Class 3.
EN 1090 Execution Class 3 (EXC3) is a high-level, rigorous standard for structural steel fabrication, requiring strict quality control, advanced welding procedures, and comprehensive traceability. It is mandatory for complex, high-risk structures such as bridges, high-rise buildings (over 15 stories), or structures subjected to significant fatigue.
Key Requirements EN 1090 Execution Class 3:
Welding & Qualification: Requires high-level welding quality management, to ISO 3834-2, with certified welders and approved welding procedure specifications (WPS).
Testing & Inspection: Extensive non-destructive testing (NDT) and, in some cases, destructive testing is required to verify material and weld quality.
Documentation: Full material traceability is required, along with a detailed technical file and, for UK/EU, a valid Factory Production Control (FPC) certificate.
Common Applications
High risk bridges and pedestrian footbridges.
Large sports stadiums and complex, tall buildings.
Industrial structures subjected to high fatigue loads.
Structures in demanding environments.
EXC3 is a critical standard ensuring structural safety and integrity for buildings that present a higher risk to human life if they fail.
