Delphini has been working on one of the biggest projects in our history and it is starting to take shape in the dock at the Port of Tilbury.

The 300 capacity passenger pontoon designed for the Uber by Thames Clippers vessel the Orbit Clipper, a new and innovative fully electric passenger ferry, that will carry passengers between Canary Wharf and Rotherhithe every 10 minutes.

The pontoon has been manufactured in our factory and workshop in Tilbury, using our inhouse design and fabrication expertise.

The fully galvanised steel lattice deck structure is supported by 14 of our modular concept pontoon modules. The 14 modules are arranged in a trimaran configuration giving a stable and safe floating foundation for the deck.

Extensive physical and computer aided testing was completed, using Autodesk robot modelling, to ensure that the most economical and stable configuration was achieved. We believe that this design is truly innovative and certainly a first on the Thames.

All proudly developed, tested and manufactured in house by the Delphini team.

We look forward to sharing more photos once it is in position!
